PHEADRA

PHAEDRA - A GREEK TRAGEDY SET IN 1770

As part of my third year in the Performance Costume undergraduate degree course at Edinburgh College of Art, I was given a classical play with a brief designed to adapt the characters set in a random time period. These designs were to be coloured in only black and neon orange, using just scuba jersey, rip-stop and neoprene.

This design brief was exciting visually, yet challenged my historical pattern cutting skills when using traditional 18th Century patterns with modern-day textiles.
